Hi everybody and welcome to my web site. My name is Stefano De Rosa and I am photographer and amateur astronomer. In my photography style, I look for the harmony between the beauty of natural landscapes and the splendor of the night sky and its phenomena. Links to my pictures galleries are just below the header or on Flickr. The site is in English even if main posts are also commented in Italian.
My work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and the United States. Many of my photos have appeared on NASA’s worldwide known web sites such as Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD), Earth Science Picture of the Day (EPOD) and Spaceweather , on National Geographic, CNN and published on national and international magazines (Sky & Telescope, Astronomy, Sky at Night, Ciel & Espace) and electronic media. I was born in Terni, located in Umbria, the “Green Heart” of Italy and I currently live in Turin (north-west of Italy) and here is a presentation video of this wonderful city.

mi chiamo Stefano De Rosa e sono un fotografo ed astrofilo. Nelle mie immagini cerco di coniugare a bellezza dei paesaggi naturali ed urbani con lo splendore del cielo stellato e dei suoi fenomeni. Buongiorno Sig. De Rosa,
per quanto non al suo livello, sono anch’io un appassionato di foto astronomiche e di paesaggio. Ho molto apprezzato le sue immagini, che, tra l’altro, dimostrano un legame con la mia città, Torino. Abito probabilmente non lontano da lei, in quanto alcune sue immagini di tramonti presentano inquadrature simili a quelle che ho realizzato dal mio balcone.
Essendo di recente passato alla condizione di pensionato, sto spendendo un pò di tempo per migliorare le mie capacità fotografiche: spero non le dispicerà se in futuro le chiederò qualche consiglio.

Wowzers, your site is amazing! I spend a lot of time looking up as I adore the sky any time of day. In fact, I am surprised I don’t have more skinned up knees from falling as I look up so much, LOL! And the mysterious moon….aahhh.
